Editorial policy
Select Kitchen Stories aims to publish food writing that is clear about what it knows, careful with context and open to correction. We distinguish explanation from opinion and avoid presenting a personal preference as a universal rule.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against reliable material appropriate to the subject and take care with dates, names, cultural context and descriptions of technique. When a subject has multiple explanations or regional variations, we avoid forcing it into one neat answer. Our articles are general editorial reading, not professional dietary, medical or food-safety advice.
Independence and labels
Editorial decisions are made for reader interest and relevance. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly identified as such, and commercial relationships do not guarantee favourable coverage. Partner placements are presented separately from editorial recommendations so readers can tell what kind of material they are seeing.
Corrections and illustrations
If a reader spots a factual error or a misleading omission, they can contact us with the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and update material when warranted, making significant changes clear where appropriate. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; illustrative images are not evidence of a real dish, kitchen or event.
A good meal has more than one story
We look beyond recipes to the ingredients, skills, histories and shared habits that make food meaningful.
